ERDX (Ex. NJTR) GP40FH-2 No. 4139 is the last of 15 GP40FH-2's on NJ Transit's locomotive roster. The locomotive started life back in January, 1969 as Rock Island GP40 No. 389. It was later rebuilt and repainted by MK to NJTR GP40FH-2 No. 4139 in December, 1987. After many of it's sisters were sold, the 4139 remained at the MMC for many months as the LETP training unit. The locomotive received new numberboards and a new horn before eventually being sold to the leasing company ERDX. It seen here parked outside of it's new home at the Kinkisharyo International LLC at Piscataway Township, NJ waiting to get rebuild. |
